Awards and IPAA Fellow

National Awards

Each year IPAA provides members with opportunities through national awards. These include the award of National Fellow FIPAA, The Sam Richardson Award, The Sir George Murray Award Competition and Public Administration Research Trust Fund grants.

IPAA Fellow

The IPAA Fellow is the highest national award bestowed by the Institute in recognition of an individual’s outstanding contribution to the study or practice of public administration. Recipients of this prestigious award are entitled to use the postnominal letters "FIPAA". NSW recipients are as follows:

Young Leader's Award

The IPAA NSW Young Leaders Award, which is currently sponsored by KPMG, provides two scholarships for young public sector professionals to undertake the Executive Development Program (EDP). The Award includes a two-week secondment to KPMG, during which the successful applicants will engage with KPMG partners and senior managers and undertake training offered by KPMG.

Young Tall Poppy Awards

The Young Tall Poppy Awards are jointly sponsored by IPAA and the Australia Institute of Policy and Science. The Awards aim to recognise achievement within the public service and the future leadership potential of recipients, as well as outstanding commitment, communication skills and attainment of high distinctions in the ANZSOG Executive Master of Public Administration course.
