IPAA NSW 2009 Public Sector Training Courses Program
The 2009 IPAA NSW public sector training program offers a range of new courses designed in
consultation with both central and line agencies to build
skills and capabilities across the public sector.
The 2009 course program
includes:
- The Aboriginal mentoring program run very successfully
as a pilot in 2008 and featuring a blended learning approach
with face to face and use of a variety of online environments
- Mentoring and coaching both forming part of
our Leadership program
- Several of our extremely successful ongoing
programs such as Ministerial correspondence writing, Developing and writing operational policies and procedures and The policy process
- An expanded inhouse or customised agency program to better suit the need for agencies to effectively
expend their training dollars
- Expansion of the range and number of qualifications
offered and delivered with Registered Training Organisations
- Supporting the Department of Premier and Cabinet
Workforce Strategy and the NSW State Plan
- NSW department of Commerce procurement training
programs and NSW treasury Gateway Review programs.
The program has been developed from research which included:
- a review of international literature on trends
in learning and development in public administration
- a review of programs being offered by competitors
for example TAFE, ServiceFirst, AIM, the APSC, universities
and other IPAAs
- a review of successful and unsuccessful programs of
IPAA NSW from 2004–2008
- a focus group of human resources and learning
and development directors and managers from public
sector agencies
- a survey of human resources and learning and
development directors and managers from public sector
agencies
- a survey of consultants and
- interviews with human resources
and learning and development directors and managers.
During 2008 IPAA NSW has expanded its panel of consultants
and is well placed to offer to conduct large to small
scale consultancies in performance review, organisational
restructure and strategic planning. Our high quality
consultants continue to maintain IPAA NSW’s reputation
of providing a high standard of delivery of public programs,
customised agency programs and consultancies.
Unfortunately two years of trialling public programs
in the regional areas of NSW has proved unsuccessful
with little interest and poor attendances, and these
will no longer be offered. The highly successful regional
customised agency program will continue to expand.
We hope you engage with and enjoy our professional development
program for 2009.
