Pheona Twist (formerly Arndell) is a communications specialist whose career has spanned the non-government, private and public sectors. Pheona is currently the Director, Corporate Communications, for the Office of Communities in the NSW Department of Education and Communities.
In addition to her full-time work, Pheona sits on two not-for-profit boards. She is the Vice-President of Lotus Outreach Australia, an organisation that is dedicated to ensuring the education, health and safety of vulnerable women and children in Cambodia. She is also the Chair of the National Children’s and Youth Law Centre and the Chair of the Centre’s Finance Committee. The Centre is Australia’s only national community legal organisation dedicated to representing the rights and interests of children and young people.
Pheona is a strong believer in the education and development of public sector employees. She is an advocate for people being members of IPAA.
Pheona participated in the NSW Premier’s Public Sector Leadership Course in 1995. She is currently an Associate of the Australian Marketing Institute and a Member of the International Association for Public Participation Australasia (IAP2).
