How to future proof your career

ABOUT THIS EVENT

In a rapidly changing public sector, it can seem challenging to remain relevant. But in this new world of work, building a rewarding career and continually improving your skills, knowledge and capability is as critical as ever.

How to future proof your career is an opportunity to hear about the importance of a lifelong commitment to upgrading your skills and to glean strategies for identifying your own capability gaps.  Emma Hogan, NSW Public Service Commissioner, will share insights gleaned from her own career journey, while our second speaker will discuss their observations about how young people manage their careers to ensure they achieve their goals.

This event reflects IPAA NSW’s major strategic priority of developing the next generation of leaders.

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND

IPAA NSW’s Young Professional annual event is an opportunity for motivated, committed and ambitious young professionals (aged 34 and younger) with a shared interest in the NSW public sector to connect and be inspired.

The evening aims to create a space where the ideas impacting 21st century public sector are discussed and debated by those who will play an active role in the sector’s future.

The event will include an opportunity to identify the top three skills you think you need to develop in order to future proof your own career.

At least 30% of this event is allocated to questions from the floor and networking, meaning that you will have the opportunity to play an active part in this discussion while building your relationships across the sector.

All IPAA events include purposeful networking which allows you to:
  • Build relationships with the speaker/s and fellow guests
  • Develop your capabilities
  • Establish connections across the NSW public sector.
