All IPAA NSW eligible professional and associate members are invited to attend the 2018 IPAA Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The IPAA NSW 2018 AGM will be held on 4 December 2018 followed by the Spann Oration which this year will be delivered by Dr Lisa O’Brien, Chief Executive Officer, The Smith Family.

SPEAKERS

Martin Hoffman, IPAA NSW President


Martin Hoffman is currently Secretary of the NSW Department of Finance, Services & Innovation (DFSI), as well as IPAA NSW President.

He was previously Deputy Secretary at the Commonwealth Department of Industry and Science (and its predecessors), from July 2010. He worked particularly on resources and energy matters. Martin joined the Australian Public Service in March 2009 in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Before joining the public sector, Martin had a lengthy private sector career primarily in digital media and technology after an early career in consulting and banking in Australia and Hong Kong.

Martin holds an MBA (Hons) from the Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland, Master of Applied Finance (Macquarie), and Bachelor of Economics (Sydney). He completed the Executive Fellows program at the Australia New Zealand School of Government (ANZOG) in 2009, and was awarded the James Wolfensohn Public Service Scholarship to study at the Harvard Kennedy School in 2013.

John Hubby, IPAA NSW Vice President


In March 2017 John Hubby commenced in the position of Deputy Secretary Corporate Services at the Department of Family and Community Services (FACS). In this role John is responsible for the organisation's "enabling pillar" of corporate functions. John brings to this role a track record of implementing major reform in public and private sector organisations and is leading the transformation of corporate and governance functions responsive to the many changes in FACS' service delivery model.

Prior to this John held the position of Deputy Secretary Government and Corporate Services at the Department of Finance, Services & Innovation (DFSI). He joined the organisation in April 2012 and filled the role of Acting Chief Executive for ten months when Finance & Services joined the Treasury and Finance Cluster. In this role at DFSI John was responsible for the delivery of Corporate and Shared Services across the organisation of 7,000 employees.

John worked at Juvenile Justice (from 2009 to 2012) as Deputy Chief Executive and as Chief Executive. Former roles also include working as an executive at NSW Health, and Justice Health where he worked on the organisation's response to the complex health issues of people who come in contact with the criminal justice system.

John has an extensive background in health and human services in both Australia and the United States having held a variety of senior roles in both public and private health sectors. 

NOTICE OF SPECIAL RESOLUTION


This is a special notice to members to bring an important item to your attention. 

As you may be aware IPAA NSW is in the process of transitioning its company structure from an incorporated association to a company limited by guarantee at the request of the NSW Office of Fair Trading.

The final proposal and draft constitution is available to members and published here for feedback.

The new constitution will be put to a formal vote at the AGM on 4 December 2018 so please register to attend.

Nominations will be closing soon for the IPAA NSW 2018 Council Election.

Payments

Payment is required prior to attending the event or course. Please contact an IPAA NSW staff member if an exception is required.

Payments - Online Events

If you have an outstanding invoice for the event, you will not receive a link to the live event. 

Online Events

Only people registered to the event can access the content. Do not share login details with people who have not registered to the event

Cancellation policy - Events
  • Cancellation must be in writing and confirmed by an IPAA NSW staff member
  • Cancellation received more than 10 business days prior to the event – no penalty will be incurred
  • Cancellation received within 6-10 business days of the event – 50% of the fee is payable
  • Cancellation received less than 6 business days prior to the event – 100% of the fee is payable
  • No show – 100% of the fee is payable
  • Registrations received less than 6 business days prior to the event are non-refundable.
Cancellation policy - Scheduled Courses
  • Cancellation must be in writing and confirmed by an IPAA NSW staff member

Cancellation policy - Self-paced Courses
  • Cancellations are not permitted.

Note: If you do not cancel and do not attend and event or course, 100% of the fee must be paid.

Transfer policy - Events
  • All requests for transfers must be in writing
  • Substitute nominees may attend in your place where deemed appropriate; however, if a member wishes to substitute a non-member in their place the full fee will be payable.
Transfer policy - Scheduled Courses
  • All requests for transfers must be in writing
  • Your course registration can be transferred to another course without penalty if requested more than 10 business days prior to the course start date. Otherwise, the above cancellation policy applies. Transfers can only be requested when the course fee has been paid in full.
  • Transferring your registration to another person can be done at any time without penalty if nominee details are provided within a minimum of 2 business days prior to the course start date. Transferring from a member to a non-member will result in a fee increase in line with the non-member course fee.
Transfer policy - Self-paced Courses 
  • Transfers to another course are not allowed for self-paced courses.
We may in our discretion waive cancellation charges in exceptional circumstances, but we will not waive cancellation charges on account of work commitments.

Program Changes

IPAA NSW reserves the right to change programs/speakers/venue, or to cancel programs if the enrolment criteria are not met or when conditions beyond our control prevail. All registrants will be notified in the event of cancellation and their registration fee will be refunded.
