Form and lead a Mentally Healthy Workplace culture in your workplace. Practical strategies and tools for managers and leaders

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Supporting mental health in the workplace and community has never been more important. It now is the leading cause of long-term sickness absence among Australian Workers (Petrie et al, 2018), and costs the Australian workplaces $12.8 billion annually (KPMG 2018) . Most importantly, its effects to an individual can be devastating.

This masterclass will introduce the concept of an individual’s mental health journey, and the theoretical approach and evidence base underpinning it.  It will also explore how interventions in the workplace differ depending on where someone is on their mental health journey and, how workplaces can adopt the Recovery at Work program when mental health issues arise.

The masterclass will also provide an opportunity to learn about what the NSW Government, through its Mentally Healthy Workplaces Strategy (2018-2022), is doing to support better outcomes for individuals, businesses and communities in NSW. In particular, you will hear about the Recovery at Work program that SIRA is undertaking.

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND

Mental health affects everyone and everyone can help.

This masterclass has been specifically designed to give for managers and leaders practical strategies and tools to develop a Mentally Healthy Workplace culture.
