Is this course right for you?

How much do you know about how your government works?

Whether you’re a new or experienced public servant, having a sound understanding of public sector framework and governance is essential to your career success.

This course will give you a comprehensive understanding of the Australian system of government that you can easily apply to your own role.

In doing so it will give you a clearer line of sight between your work and the impact it makes on the people of NSW.

An understanding of policy development was identified by the NSW public sector leaders as one of the Skills for Success.  This course builds on the foundations developed in IPAA’s one hour Skills for Success webinars, Operating successfully in the NSW Government and Surviving the MoG/Election cycle.

What will you learn?

You will be introduced to areas such as the Constitution, Westminster system, separation of powers and the machinery of government in NSW as part of this course.

You will also learn about the important role you play as a public servant and build your knowledge of recent public sector reforms that are relevant to you.

This full-day course delves deeper into topics such as contemporary public sector management and governance reforms.
