Co-opted Councillor

Margaret is a Fellow of the Institute and a respected, accomplished and experienced leader of large, complex public sector organisations having worked for many years at a CEO/COO/Deputy Secretary level.

Currently, Margaret holds the position of Auditor-General for New South Wales. Prior to her taking up this position, she was the Deputy Secretary Corporate Services for the Department of Family and Community Services (FACS).

Margaret’s career has been with the Commonwealth Government, two State Governments and with Australia’s largest local government. Margaret has a track record of success in a diverse range of sectors, housing and homelessness, community and disability services, transport policy and regulation, taxation administration, corporate services and gaming regulation. While varied, her key focus in each role has been to transform and improve outcomes for customers, often the most vulnerable citizens in the community.
