Overview

The Gateway Review Training Program was developed in response to NSW Government ICT Investment Governance Model to improve ICT investment outcomes and deliver better value ICT projects. This model requires all ICT projects valued at an Estimated Total Cost (ETC) of $10 million and above, as well as projects under $10 million of strategic importance or concern, to be reviewed under a new risk-based ICT Assurance Framework (IAF) in accordance with the NSW Gateway Policy.

This training program aims to equip potential Gateway Reviewers with the required skills, knowledge and tools to provide an independent appraisal of the project at ‘gates’ that highlights the risks and issues, which if not addressed, may threaten successful delivery. It helps Reviewers examine the robustness of methods used by agencies to plan, manage and deliver major ICT projects, with a goal of providing early intervention on issues that affect cost and time delays or improve the management of risks, governance and stakeholder buy-in.
