People power: retrain, reskill and redeploy

How to drive the skills agenda in your workplace

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Gone are the days of formal organisational structures, static position descriptions and rigid boundaries as the mechanisms for how the public sector achieved its objectives. In this new environment, one of the biggest challenges faced by the NSW public sector is the conflict of constantly providing improving services to citizens whilst being leaner and relevant to a fast-changing need of our customers. The sector is also operating in a fiscally constrained environment, yet in parallel requires new skills to thrive.  Instead of recruiting people, why not retrain, reskill and redeploy the people you already have?

Speakers at this masterclass will explore the absolute critical need to do high quality strategic workforce planning.  They will consider how we need to bring together a vision, high quality predictive analytics and a transformative mindset to evolve our workforce from what it is today to what it can be tomorrow.

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND

Workforce planning, at any level, is a critical success factor for organisations to ensure they have the capability, culture and leadership now and in the future to achieve organisational performance.

This masterclass will better prepare you to drive a skills agenda in your own work environments by providing you with practical insights and inspiration.  The interactive, practical session will provide the context for the changing skills landscape in the NSW public sector and equip you with useful tools for determining a workforce plan.  Participants will be asked to come with a challenge they have in optimising their workforce and will work on this in small groups throughout the event.

All IPAA events include purposeful networking which allows you to:
  • Build relationships with the speaker/s and fellow guests
  • Develop your capabilities
  • Establish connections across the NSW public sector.
