Secretary Series 4 with Georgina Harrisson, Michael Coutts-Trotter and Jim Betts

This unique event brings together three public sector leaders with responsibility for delivering some of the most important public sector services.

Building better integration between the work of our education system and the particular needs of disadvantaged communities has been a long-term priority for all governments and is particular focus in the NSW Premier’s Priorities.

The pressures created by COVID has made this integration even more important than ever and this event is an opportunity to understand how the Departments of Education and Communities & Justice are working together to deliver on the goals set by the Premier's Priorities. It’s also a chance to explore how this cooperation reflects new ways of working right across the public sector.

Our speakers include:
Michael Coutts-Trotter - Secretary of the Department of Communities & Justice and one of NSW ‘s most experienced and long-serving Departmental Secretaries
Georgina Harrisson - Secretary of the Department of Education and one the newest Departmental Secretaries in NSW
Jim Betts - incoming Secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet and one of the few very people to have led government departments in both NSW and Victoria

WHAT WILL I GAIN?
This event will help you understand how three of NSW's most important departments are integrating their work with some of the most vulnerable communities in NSW. It is also an opportunity to see how this cooperative approach exemplifies the new ways of working that will be needed right across the public sector in response to the challenges created by COVID.

HOW WILL I LEARN
This will be a facilitated 60 minute online discussion with at least 25% of the time allocated for Q&A.
