You will learn practical project management tools and techniques which you can readily apply to your own public sector work.

You will also discover how to identify project goals, scope projects, manage risk, communicate with stakeholders, and effectively close a project.

If you’re a project team member, a manager of small projects or new to project management, this is a critical capability to develop.

Project management was identified by the NSW public sector leaders as one of the Skills for Success. This course builds on the foundations developed in Skills for Success: Outcomes based project management held in March 2022 and Skills for Success: Managing Change coming soon in 2023.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

This course will give you a solid foundation and methodology for managing projects.

You will finish the course knowing you can:

• Contribute to the development of project schedules and plans and contribute to the identification of project deliverables
• Contribute as a member of a project team and be clear about their own roles and responsibilities within the project
• Take responsibility for their own part of the project and work towards achieving agreed deadlines within a set budget and timeframe
• Seek support from colleagues in advance where necessary
• Bring problems and potential problems to the attention of the project leader and participate in the evaluation of outcomes.
