We are thrilled to have the following companies exhibiting at the National Investigations Symposium.
Registrations are now open for the 11th National Investigations Symposium (NIS) in November 2016 at the Four Seasons Sydney.
A joint initiative by the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption; NSW Ombudsman; and Institute of Public Administration Australia NSW, the Symposium presents an opportunity for public sector investigators and complaint handlers to increase their investigative knowledge, skills and techniques, and gain insight while networking with fellow practitioners.
The two-day Symposium on 9 and 10 November 2016 will feature thought provoking Australian and international speakers in a plenary session and four concurrent streams.
The keynote speaker on day one is Travis Tygart, CEO of the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) who will be speaking about his investigation into Lance Armstrong, the grand tour rider who was stripped of seven Tour De France wins and banned for life from the sport after the USADA investigation.
The program closes with a plenary panel session which will be facilitated by Chris Masters on strategies for managing difficult and complex investigations and includes Professor Gillian Triggs, Australian Human Rights Commissioner, Deborah Glass OBE, Victorian Ombudsman and James Beaton, Royal Commission in Trade Union Governance and Corruption.
The two day symposium includes a dinner on Wednesday 9th November, with Kitty Flanagan as the confirmed dinner entertainment.
In addition to the symposium, there are also a number of workshops on Friday 11 November 2016 on conducting investigations, administrative law, interviewing techniques and motivational interviewing, and report writing. The workshops can sell out early so early registration for any of those is encouraged.
The Symposium provides ample opportunities to establish new contacts and nurture existing networks.
