Tim Reardon, Secretary of the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet, offers his insights into the important capabilities, priorities and trends for the NSW public sector in 2019.

ABOUT THIS EVENT

This is an opportunity to hear Tim Reardon reflect on his first year as Secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet, and offer his view on what he believes will be the big issues in 2019.

In his address, Mr Reardon will share his thoughts on how the sector can develop to meet the expectations of government and the community. He will also explore the national, regional and global shifts that will shape public sector work and workplaces in 2019.

This event is part of IPAA NSW’s strategy to provide our members and supporters with the opportunity to directly engage with the big ideas that underpin public administration.

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND

This event allows you to hear directly from the leader of the NSW public service, and someone with a unique perspective on the performance of the sector. It is also a chance to get a head start in thinking about 2019, and build your understanding about the issues that will shape our work environment.

Mr Reardon will make a 30 minute presentation, after which there will be a further 30 minutes of audience Q&A, hosted by IPAA NSW President, Martin Hoffman. This will allow audience members to play an active part in the discussion.

SPEAKER

Tim Reardon

Tim Reardon was appointed as the Secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet in late 2017. He is responsible for leading the public service in NSW and driving the Government’s services, infrastructure and reform priorities. Prior to his appointment, Tim was the Secretary of Transport for NSW where he successfully led the transport cluster and its 25,000 people on behalf of the NSW community. He led the development and delivery of the largest transport infrastructure and services pipeline in a generation, with over $41bn of capital works over a four year period. The NSW transport system now delivers far greater service levels for a fast growing population and economy across the state, and customer satisfaction is at an all-time high. He has 27 years’ experience working in both government and the private sector in NSW and internationally.
