The Career Hub includes a series of focused modules covering key stages of the job application process, including:

With the emphasis on career development and alignment with NSW government expectations, the course addresses several capabilities from the NSW Public Sector Capability Framework. This framework outlines 16 core capabilities across four groups: Personal Attributes, Relationships, Results, and Business Enablers.

Based on the course content, the following capabilities are particularly relevant:

Personal Attributes:
Manage Self: Developing self-awareness and motivation to pursue career goals.
Display Resilience and Courage: Building confidence to navigate the job application and interview process.

Relationships:
Communicate Effectively: Crafting clear and compelling job applications and resumes.

Deliver Results: Setting and achieving career objectives through effective job search strategies.

By focusing on these capabilities, the Career Hub course equips participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the NSW public sector recruitment process effectively.

 

How long should it take

This e-learning consists of three steps, which can be completed at your own pace. You can complete 1, 2 or all 3 of the steps.

Access to the modules and resources will be for 365 days from date of registration.

Each module should take approximately 20 minutes to complete, but allow more time for working your way through the workbook resource. 

Why should I do it

Research with members indicated that they struggled to identify what the recruiter was looking for and how to make themselves stand out whilst still addressing the criteria.

Many felt that they lacked the preparation skills to be able to reach the interview stage.

A previous Skills for Success event on deepening your interview skills was attended by 3000 people and received more questions from the audience than any other IPAA event ever.
