Course Overview

This course addresses the fundamental principles of procurement in the Queensland Public Sector. Upon completion, participants will be able to apply the concept of procurement to the Queensland Government context and follow standard ordering, receipting and payment processes on behalf of their agency.

  • Identify legal, administrative and governance frameworks that apply to procurement in the Qld public sector
  • Prevent corruption in procurement
  • Undertake simple low-value, low-risk procurement on behalf of your agency.

Talk to your line manager about attending the course and add it to your Achievement Development Plan (ADP). Agencies must evaluate the risk of you purchasing for Queensland Government, and without training, that risk is increased.

Course Outline

This course consists of five x 30 minute self-paced online modules.

  • Module 1: What is procurement?
  • Module 2: Procurement in the Qld public sector
  • Module 3: Legal, administrative and governance frameworks
  • Module 4: Preventing corruption in procurement
  • Module 5: Undertaking simple procurement.

The examples and scenarios used throughout the course relate to low value, low risk procurement activities, although the procurement principles discussed in the modules apply to all procurement activities.

Please note: processes relating to higher value, higher risk procurement activities are covered in PCP Levels 2-4.

Certificate of Completion: On completion of this training, you will be issued with a Certificate of Completion, which can be downloaded and printed.

Timeframe to complete this course: From date of registration, you will have 60 days to access and complete this training.
