Climate Change, Energy, the Environment, and Water
Chris joined the NSW government in 2013 and has held senior executive roles in the Department of Industry, the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Department of Regional NSW, was the CEO of the Greater Cities Commission and is now the Chief Operating Officer for the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
In these roles Chris has led teams who designed and delivered more than $16 billion in flagship regional development, disaster recovery and infrastructure investment packages; undertook the strategic planning for more than a quarter of Australia’s population across Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong and now leads the people, finance and legal functions supporting the Department leading NSW’s climate change, energy transition, environment and water policy development and program delivery.
Chris leads teams passionate about designing and delivering programs that drive job creation, economic development, improved amenity and address climate impacts across NSW. They do this whilst incorporating the insights of our young people, improving aboriginal outcomes, championing diversity and inclusion and bringing the voice of communities across NSW to the heart of government decision making.
