You will leave this course with the skills to distil analysis and evidence into a short soundly argued decision document using clear writing and the NSW Government Content Style Guide.
You will learn how to structure and organise complex ideas in decision documents to ministers’ preferences.
You will finish this course knowing you can:
- use an analytical and evidence-based approach to writing.
- write accurate and clear briefs and minutes that support well-informed decision-making.
- edit documents for both substance and style to ensure they achieve their purpose and meet reader expectations.
- use the NSW Government Content Style Guide to guide their writing.
- produce quality letters, emails, briefs and other documents required at a NSW Grade 7/8 level.
Essential writing for NSW Grade 7/8 and 9/10 is for people at the Adept and Advanced Level and you will develop the following capabilities:
