Safe Researcher Training

The Safe Researcher Training Course supports analysts who require access to sensitive government data, ensuring they understand their responsibilities when working with de identified unit record level data.

Developed by the NSW Data Analytics Centre in partnership with the Department of Communities and Justice, this course is designed for Approved Analysts prior to accessing the Human Services Dataset.

IPAA NSW hosts this training to provide a secure and accessible learning environment for participants.

Course name: Safe Researcher Training Course

Estimated duration: Approximately 60 minutes

What the course covers:

  • NSW legislation and policy settings governing the collection, use and disclosure of data
  • Responsibilities and obligations when accessing government data
  • Appropriate use and disclosure of data
  • Managing and responding to data breaches

 

Completion and certification

Participants who successfully complete the final assessment with a minimum score of 80 percent will receive a certificate of completion.
