Co-opted Councillor

With over 20 years of executive experience in Human Resources, Tracey Taylor currently serves as Chief People Officer at Transport for NSW, where she oversees a workforce of more than 30,000 employees statewide.

In addition to her role as CPO, Tracey is Deputy Secretary of People, Communications & Workplaces – a critical enabling division whose mission is to empower Transport through strategic people management, effective communication and innovative workplace solutions.

Under her leadership, Transport has garnered significant recognition for its programs and policies. In 2023, it was named a 5-Star Employer of Choice by Human Resources Director magazine and won Best Remote Work Strategy at the Australian HR Awards. In 2024, Transport was certified as a Family Inclusive Workplace for the second time, demonstrating a deep commitment to supporting employees in balancing work, family and caring responsibilities.

A staunch advocate for employee mental health and wellbeing, Tracey leads the implementation of Transport’s Wellbeing Strategy and champions a prevention-led, systemic approach to creating a healthy work environment that ensures people are at the heart. She steers Transport’s Respect program, which aims to foster a psychologically safe workplace culture, where employees feel empowered to speak up and where concerns are proactively addressed.

Tracey is Executive Sponsor for Disability and Accessibility and chairs the Enabled Network, which supports employees with disabilities, she also leads the delivery of Transport’s Reconciliation Action Plan. Passionate about diversity and inclusion, Tracey’s visible leadership and commitment to supporting Transport’s diverse workforce ensures it reflects the communities it serves.
