Gisele Kapterian - Senior Director, Public Sector Strategy APAC, Salesforce


Gisele has extensive experience providing strategic advice to governments and corporations on a range of legal, business, political and public policy issues. As director for Salesforce's APAC Public Sector Strategy, she assists in shaping the vision, direction and go-to-market strategies for the APAC public sector business.


Gisele Kapterian - Full bio

Gisele has extensive experience providing strategic advice to governments and corporations on a range of legal, business, political and public policy issues. As director for Salesforce's APAC Public Sector Strategy, she assists in shaping the vision, direction and go-to-market strategies for the APAC public sector business.

A lawyer by training with international experience including in Geneva and London, Gisele most recently served five years as political adviser to three Australian Federal Cabinet Ministers, including as Chief of Staff in the super-portfolio of Industry, Innovation and Employment. Her responsibilities and achievements while in government include helping drive and shape the policy direction of the Australian Government’s tech future strategy, trade components of the Foreign Policy White Paper; and elevating and prioritising digital trade issues including helping drive the digital trade agenda initiative at the 11th WTO Ministerial.

Before her political experience, Gisele was an international trade lawyer with White&Case, advising sovereign governments and the private sector on a range of trade matters, appearing as counsel before a number of dispute resolution panels and the World Trade Organization Appellate Body. She also lectured in International Trade Law and Finance at Macquarie University.

Early in her career, she advised on a number of complex international legal disputes including as legal counsel to the Eritrean Government on the on-going Eritrea-Ethiopia Claims Commission arbitration in the Hague.

Gisele has a Masters of International Law from Cambridge University and was admitted as a lawyer of the NSW Supreme Court in 2007.
