Doing less with less

Cuts to the public sector can end up costing far more than they save, and leaving some jobs to the private sector may result in their being done badly or not at all. While some politicians talk about doing “more with less”, this can in reality mean doing less with less. This UK report by Dr Christopher Stone of the Centre for Policy Development sets out six cases where the value provided by public services is greater than their costs.

This new report from Precedent warns that the emergence of leaner, more agile operators who are developing digitally attuned alternative services threaten many larger established organisations.
