Women's Leadership Network
The Women’s Leadership Network is a vibrant, supportive community for women working in or aspiring to leadership roles across the NSW public sector. Whether you're just starting your leadership journey or already in a senior position, the Community offers year-round opportunities to develop your capabilities, expand your network, and be inspired by the experiences of others.
The Women's Leadership Network exists to:
- Champion and empower women in the NSW public sector who aspire to or currently hold leadership roles
- Foster connection, learning, and collaboration across agencies and levels
- Support the development of future-ready female leaders, creating a ripple effect of positive impact across the sector
Guided by Women, for Women
The Network’s Advisory Group, chaired by Kim Curtain (Co-opted Councillor on the IPAA NSW Council), ensures that the work of the Women’s Leadership Network is aligned with IPAA NSW’s strategic priorities and values.
The Group reflects a cross-sector approach, bringing together representatives from various NSW public sector portfolios and grades to ensure diversity of voice, experience, and impact.
Engage With Our Community
Our annual program of events is designed to create meaningful opportunities for connection, reflection and inspiration for all of our members. For the Women's Leadership Network Community specifically, whether you're looking to build relationships, gain new perspectives, or invest in your personal development, there’s something for every woman in the public sector.
Events include:
Coffee Roulette - Various
A standout favourite! Coffee Roulette connects you with one or two women from across the sector for informal conversations—online or in person, one-off or ongoing.
Just answer a few quick questions about your interests and preferences, and we’ll do the rest. It’s the simplest, most flexible way to expand your professional network and share stories, ideas, or support.
International Women’s Day – March
In partnership with the NSW Office of the Public Service Commissioner, this major annual event brings together public sector leaders and change-makers to spotlight the progress, challenges, and opportunities for women in leadership.
You’ll hear powerful stories from both emerging and established leaders, engage in real conversations about mentorship, sponsorship, and gender equity—and build meaningful connections with others committed to inclusive leadership.
Women’s Executive Lunch - October
An energising gathering for Senior Executive Band women leaders from across government. These candid conversations explore themes like resilience, influence, and purpose in modern public sector leadership.
This flagship event is your chance to connect deeply with peers, share hard-earned insights, and return to your role recharged and inspired.
